Pam Skillin, President, Business Basics, Inc.

It was around 1986 when my dad first introduced me to bookkeeping. He was a sole proprietor and started me out typing invoices and adding up ledger sheets. Over the years I did odd jobs learning more about the trade.

In 1996 I received an Associates in Science from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. My major was accounting and my minor General Business. From 1997 through 1999 I was a technician in the Micro Business Department of BROC. I helped people write business plans and receive financing. It was here that I gained a lot of knowledge on the different areas that need to be visited by small businesses.

In 1999 I became a sole proprietor and started Business Basics. In 2003 I joined the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and gained my certification. For the last nine years Business Basics has been a successful bookkeeping business.
